Discovery and it's instructors are approved by DPS & the NRA to certify and sign off on the Arizona Department of Public Safety training requirements for Security Guards, Armed Guards, and licensing renewal. DPS certificates are awarded at class completion along with a recognized Certificate from Discovery Detective Academy.

Basic 8 hour Guard Training $95 Certification in 1 day
Armed Security 16 hr DPS certificate class.
Two, eight 1/2 hour days of classroom & range time.
1) Classroom in Scottsdale, Outdoor Range at Rio Salado Sportsman Club. Must bring a fire arm (revolver or semi auto), holster, 100 rounds of ammo in the caliber of your gun, eye protection, lunch, drinks. Water & sodas available at range.
2) Classroom in Scottsdale, Indoor range at Scottsdale Gun Club.

3) Classroom in Scottsdale, Indoor range at Scottsdale Gun Club.

Security Supervisor course. Discovery Detective Academy Certificate issued at class completion
NEW ISA - Investigator Security Agent
2 modules of 8 classes each. Module #1 Core training consists of: Investigative Report Writing, Law, Statements & Interviewing Techniques, Ethics. Module #2 Field Operations consists of: Surveillance, Undercover, loss Prevention, Photography / Videography, Field Communications.
Finger Print cards for DPS licensing or renewal $8 on day of class.
Security applicants submit your certificate, application from your sponsoring agency, finger print card, & fee to DPS for processing your background check and licensing. For an armed position, you will need an additional firearms class & certificate. If you are approved, DPS will send you your Security Guard Employee License.
Our classes exceed the minimum requirements for Arizona State DPS licensing for security guard employee training.
Discovery CE Certificates are given in addition to the DPS Certificate, when you take the Security Guard Professional 2 day class. Our Certificate is suitable for framing and is impressive to include with your certification and resume to future employers. This says you are serious about your career, in compliance, and have been professionally trained. Discovery is a recognized name in Security & Investigation training.
Advanced training is available in corporate security and for CE credit. Also, many of our Professional Investigator classes apply to advanced security specialist training.
